Important News: 1) New stocks arrived on Thursday 26th January 2012! Unfortunately, as warned, ALL prices have soared. Cartomizers have risen to R90 a box, but we will introduce them at R85. Liquids are now also R90 a bottle but we have them from R50 to R75 at present. In November, before our year-end clearance sale, these prices were R80 for cartomizers and R80 for liquids, so there is not too much difference. 2) The manufacturers are clamping down on returns and exchanges of batteries. We have been told to keep a battery register and to record dates, serial numbers etc. This means that although the 3 month warranty still applies, there are more stringent procedures to follow. 3) For the first time in our history, we have had to increase both packaging and delivery costs. With escalation in all sectors, especially fuels, our costs have risen and we can no longer absorb these. We have kept the increases to a minimum. We have also been requested to provide overnight delivery to the door. 4) Due to the Rand/Dollar exchange rate, there has been a marked increase in our costs of purchase, shipping, etc and all new stocks arriving in January 2012 will have to be reviewed. In the last 6 months this has escalated by 32%. Prices will have to increase, but we will try to contain these as much as possible. 5) Over the last few years we have noticed which items are slow movers and which are very popular. We have discontinued a couple of items and we only keep limited stocks of those items which are not so popular. Cartomizer Leakage: Due to the incredible heat we have been experiencing lately, we have had a little feedback with regards to leakage of cartomizers. During delivery to the customer, postal and courier transport is also affected by the heat and although the cartomizers are sealed, they could sweat a bit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these! While they maybe a little messy, a quick wipe before use is all that is required. Yes, you may lose a drop or 2, but their efficacy is not affected and if you refill, then you won't even notice. In fact, we are selling some cartomizers off cheaply, because we have seen a little sweating occur on their way to us (usually in the factory packs). Please note as these circumstances are beyond our control, we cannot be held responsible. Under no circumstances will we exchange or credit any consumable items.
Battery Exchange: All new batteries are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 10 days: provided that the correct procedures are followed, provided the customer returns the battery to us, at their expense,
provided that the battery is still in good condition, has been carefully maintained, cleaned regularly, properly recharged at a constant 3 1/2 hour cycle and has not been tampered with, and provided the original logo and serial number are still clearly visible
Recently a customer lodged a claim on 2 batteries that were chipped, scratched, bore no logos, had been tampered with and generally just looked very old. There is no way we can exchange these! The factory is fairly reasonable with claims, but they obviouly need to cover themselves. As from 10th January 2012, we have been told to keep a battery register and provide all documentation with each claim. They have the right to refuse, which leaves us out of pocket. From now on each battery claim will be treated on merit and a surcharge of R30 will be levied against the claimant. If we think there is no point in claiming from the factory, we will advise you accordingly. New Cartomizers: We have tried a couple of different manufacturers lately, but as most users have reported their liking for the new green and white boxes, we will try to stock these, but may from time to time have to use the others too. The new ECS 2010 (4082) cartomizers have been improved and redesigned for the new year, but some seem to have slipped through early. We have noticed that some boxes are already carrying the new type of cartomizer (particularly in Tobacco High). If you never refill your carts, then this won't affect you, but if you do, you will find the task much easier. Wheras the older cartomizers had a seperate silicon seal, which had to be correctly inserted and centralised before refitting the endcap, the new type has a moulde seal which seats into the endcap. When removing the cap for refilling, the seal will probably come out with the cap - as a single item. Thus once refilled, simply press the endcap (holding the seal) in to place and you are good to go. Simple and much quicker! Batteries:
We are experiencing a few problems with bad batteries again. The factory had resolved all production issues and we are receiving better quality batteries again, but after their 1 month break for the Chinese Christmas and New Year, their production becomes strained and quality slips.We had this last year too. It will iron itself out, but is frustrating. Payments:
Please note you can make payment for an order either by EFT, Credit Card, or e-Wallet through PayFast. If for any reason you do not want to use PayFast, you can do a direct electronic transfer and if you refuse to pay over the internet, you can even make a manual deposit to our bank. We have chosen to use PayFast to save these problems. They clear your payment instantly and advise us automatically, so it really is better to pay through them. There is a small charge for us, but no charge for you the customer. The payment options now read as follows: 1) PayFast (EFT, Credit Card, e-Wallet 2) Electronic Transfer (Online Banking). DIRTY BATTERIES: The number one cause of battery failure is the switch sticking. Often all it needs is a tap on a solid surface to undo the sticky switch, but this is not a solution. The reason for a sticking switch is usually as a direct result of excess liquid spilling from the cartomiser into the battery. Regular battery maintenance is crucial. Clean in below the battery threads every day with a rolled up piece of tissue or toilet paper. Scrub this same area with a toothbrush dipped into Meths at least once a month. In the past, some customers have had problems sending faxes to our old number. This is still in use, but as we are not always in the office, Telkom lines are not always working, power is sometimes out and paper jams are possible, the new number is for a messaging service and should eliminate all these problems.
